Optical Gas Imaging
Leak Finder utilizes the FLIR GF320™ to visualize and pinpoint leaks of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s) as referenced in the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) Air Quality Control Commission (AQCC) air quality regulations that were approved on February 23, 2014, and the Common Wealth of Pennsylvania, Air Pollution Control Act (APCA) exemptions that were approved on August 10, 2013.
Leak Finder’s Colorado clients are utilizing optical gas imaging to assist in compliance with the Department of Public Health and Environment Regulation 7 for control of ozone via ozone precursors and control of hydrocarbons via oil and gas emissions by implementing Storage Tank Emission Management System (STEM) plans. STEM plans are developed to identify appropriate strategies to minimize emissions from venting at thief hatches (or other access points to a storage tank) and pressure relief devices during normal operation. “Unsafe to Monitor” components that expose personnel to an imminent or potential danger such as elevated areas, hot areas, or Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health (IDLH) concentrations of gas are easily monitored by Leak Finder personnel utilizing the infrared camera.
Leak Finder’s Pennsylvania clients are utilizing optical gas imaging to assist in compliance with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), August 10, 2013 exemptions for Category No. 33 and Category No. 38 including compressed natural gas fueling stations, unconventional wells, well heads and associated equipment.
Leak Finder’s Texas clients are utilizing optical gas imaging to comply with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regulations and alternative work practice standards for monitoring equipment for leaks listed in 40 CFR parts 60, 61, 63, and 65. The Leak Finder cameras provide a date and time stamp for video records of every monitoring event at potential leak points, and clients are provided with daily instrument checks, and sensitivity level documentation for flare compliance.
Leak Finder Advantage’s
Augment Instrument Based Monitoring and Method 21
Easily Survey Component, Connector, Well Pad, and Storage Tank locations
Easily survey difficult to monitor components or those that cannot be monitored without elevating the monitoring personnel more than two meters above a supported surface or are unable to be reached via a wheeled scissor-lift or hydraulic type scaffold that allows access to components up to 7.6 meters (25 feet) above the ground.
